"Can we take a moment to discuss the recent trend of Weight Loss Injections?"

It’s no secret that brides want to feel their absolute best in their wedding dresses. Traditionally, we’ve embraced this desire, accommodating those who wish to “drop a few pounds” or “tone up” before their big day. This has always been part of our journey together. During our initial consultations, we explore the difference between inch loss and weight loss, discussing potential outcomes if brides hit the gym or crash diet before their wedding. We ensure that measurements are taken and signed off, and that our terms and conditions are clearly explained.
Of course, when fittings begin, alongside the usual nips, tucks and hems, we occasionally face challenges like extreme reductions or the need for added panels or corset backs. While these alterations are possible, the real concern is the time and costs involved to achieve a satisfying result.
This year, however, things are different. There seems to be a LOT of very happy brides and rather less than happy seamstresses. The brides, chuffed to pieces with their 4 stone or more weight losses, and seamstresses wondering if now might be a good time to jump out the window and take their chances rather than having to explain how much they’re going to have to charge to remake said bride’s dress, if, and here’s the kicker, it’s even possible to salvage.

How do we move forward with this, then?
Our conversations with brides and our terms need to adapt to reflect the swift effectiveness of these injections. It’s vital for our Brides to understand that some alterations may not be feasible, and they might need to explore other dress options. This is an important reality. If we hear about these injections during bridal appointments, we should recommend styles that accommodate potential body changes, such as two pieces, dresses with adjustable features like lace-up backs or softer silhouettes. Offering quick delivery options can also help ease concerns, but make sure you don't measure and order too early. By fostering open communication and ensuring our shrinking brides make informed decisions about their health and appearance, we’ll be able to continue to empower brides to feel beautiful and confident on their special day.
"Let’s unite to create a positive and uplifting experience for our brides, embracing this trend with enthusiasm!"
