"Summer has always been the most popular time of year to get married, and 2023 is no exception, which is perhaps surprising given the cost-of-living crisis. Couples still clearly prioritise celebrating on a warm summer’s day, or at least the possibility of one, above finances as deals can often be found from vendors during the quieter off-season months said Karen McCullough, CoverMyWedding.co.uk
She continues, “Wedding insurance offers financial protection against various mishaps should your special day go wrong. This cover includes cancellation and rearrangement, which are the most common claims, but also theft or loss of wedding gifts and rings, failure of suppliers such as florists, problems with bridal attire, transport, cake, photography and video, and also legal expenses and personal liability on the big day.
CoverMyWedding.co.uk policies start from just £44, and cover weddings up to £50,000 in value including UK and overseas ceremonies and receptions. CoverMywedding.co.uk was established in 2008. *Figures analysed on policies purchased between January and May 2023.
