Leading luxury, British bridal and fashion designer Sassi Holford has had a record year,. She continues to develop her bridal and fashion empire, with the launch of her beautiful new bridal collection, a brand new ready-to-wear store and her couture bridal veils going down a storm. Also a firm favourite on the red carpet! We find out the latest from this quintessentially British label.

Why Bridal? What’s your earliest memory of fashion design?

I fell into it in 1981 when a school friend was getting married but had no budget for her dress, so I said I would design and make it for her even though I hadn’t undertaken anything like that before. I certainly wasn’t expecting to pursue dressmaking professionally, but her wedding produced two commissions and the journey began.

What is new for Sassi Holford?

We’ve just opened our first Womenswear store on Brompton Road, just a 9-minute walk from our Bridal flagship store on Fulham Road.

You recently launched your new womenswear store, can you tell us about it?

Our womenswear store offers an exclusive setting for stylish women seeking a unique shopping experience in London. With formalwear, daywear and mother-of-the-bride/groom available, our knowledgeable team will be on hand to help you find your perfect look. Bespoke consultations are also available to create a one-of-a-kind garment. Every item is still handmade in England in our Somerset atelier by my incredible team of cutters and seamstresses.

Can you tell us about your latest bridal collection?

Harmony is uncompromising in its embrace of the splendour and romance of the wedding gown. Every design considered, every detail rich with luxurious fabrics with confident and nostalgic silhouettes. Contemporary yet traditional, the Collection combines nipped waists and striking necklines that frame the face and collar bones to create timeless looks. Classic duchesse, beautiful Jacquards, and effortless sheer-textured fabrics are an ode to the legacy of the wedding dress.

What’s your favourite gown from the latest collection and why?

Bella – Inspired by the resurgence of the drop waist and created in an exquisite blush Duchess floral jacquard. This square neckline will be a trending neckline for 2024 and 2025 weddings.
